Disbursements is a service that enables Mobile Money partners to send money in to recipient account with just one click.

Examples of partners that use this service are: Betting companies to pay winners, Disbursements of funds to refugees/beneficiaries among others.

The expectation is that the partner opens a Disbursement account with MTN and this account is pre-funded to enable the payments once the requests come through from the partner.

OPERATING PROCEDURES

• The solution allows funds to be disbursed into specific account holder wallet at any time.

• MMC shall create an account for the client specifically for this product.

• Only Customers registered on MTN Mobile Money can receive payments using this solution.

• The client shall acquire their own MTN SIM and submit to MMC.

• The phone number on the SIM card shall be submitted to MMC as part of the onboarding process.

• The phone number submitted by the client shall be used to setup the disbursement account.

• The client shall pre-fund their disbursement account prior to effecting any disbursements.

• The prefunding of the client’s disbursement account shall be done by the client at any of our partner banks or any other authorized outlets/ channels for purchasing e-value.

• The prefunded account shall be used for disbursements of funds into the wallet of the client’s recipients.

• The recipient account number specifiied by the Client shall directly be credited with the amount as specified.

• A disbursement report shall be sent to the client.

• The recipients will be notified of the payment and corresponding details by SMS notification.

• The message shall be transmitted to the recipient by MMC.

• The amounts credited by the Client into the recipients’ accounts will reduce the total balance on the Client’s disbursement account.

SCHEDULE 2: FEES

• Disbursement transactions are free.

• MMC may revise the fees from time to time per business decision and duly communicate any changes to the client.
